Milwaukee Bucks

We Had a Game-Changing Idea for the Bucks

When we reached out to the Milwaukee Bucks’ President, our goal was simple: find a way to bring player experiences closer to the fans and turn their massive social media presence into a revenue-generating powerhouse. Our solution? The Cream City Insider—a premium, subscription-based platform designed to deliver exclusive content, surprise player pop-ups, and VIP perks to the Bucks' most passionate fans.

It was a slam dunk idea. Unfortunately, the NBA’s rulebook had other plans.

Problem: The Milwaukee Bucks have one of the most passionate fanbases in the NBA, but outside of game days and social media, access to players and behind-the-scenes content is limited. We saw an opportunity to monetize engagement by creating a premium, Patreon-style platform that offered more than just tweets and highlight reels.

Solution: We designed The Cream City Insider, a paid subscription service where fans could access:

  • Exclusive high-quality content (deep-dive interviews, player features, and behind-the-scenes moments)
  • Surprise player pop-up notifications (because nothing beats randomly meeting Giannis at your favorite coffee shop)
  • Special perks and experiences for top-tier members

It was the perfect way to engage fans, drive revenue, and deepen brand loyalty—all while making the Bucks even more of a cultural force in Milwaukee.

Turns out, the NBA has a lot of rules. Like, a lot. Apparently, you can’t just create a game-changing digital product without navigating a maze of league-wide restrictions, content rights, and revenue-sharing policies. (Who knew?)

So while The Cream City Insider never made it to the court, we’re still diehard fans. And hey—if the Bucks ever want to revisit the idea, we’re ready to run it back.
